It was tops on the family priority to give the home bathrooms handicap accessibility. We took the closet from the guest room and made it into a shower for the hall bath. We took the big armoire from the entry and used it as a closet in the guest room. We remade the bed rails on the antique bed to accommodate today’s mattress.
In the master bath we captured the space from the kitchen hall pantry cupboard and added it to the master shower. This allowed a full width bench in the back of the shower. We moved the plumbing of the hand held shower back so it was accessible from the bench. Most important was taking off the old door which swung into the small space, re-framing it as a sliding barn door for the bath.
