I took my annual trip to High Point International Furniture Market in March. It is, in my opinion, an event every designer should experience. As usual, it lived up to my expectations. It is amazing to see thousands of vendors in one location vying for the buyers’ attention. You see the industry’s finest craftsmen putting their best foot forward.
I had a very productive trip this year, taking an extensive shopping list with me to market, and returning home with great results and ideas for all of my clients. The color for this season is red-orange. The new style is a very clean, transitional look that has been around for a long time. This look has shades of neutrals with color blocking of orange, lemon, turquoise, and blues. As I’ve advised my clients in the past, I do not recommend following a fad that will date your home. However, this particular look is tailored, classic, and timeless.
